STUNNING OUTER REEF 65 - Open Checkbook Maintained

St Somewhere is an excellently maintained Outer Reef 65 Motor Yacht.

She is extremely well kept and includes a ton of recent upgrades.

The Electronics (all new electronics last year):

Two identically laid out stations, each with two 17” MFDs, Sirius sattelite weather modules, inbound and outbound AIS, 2 VHF radios, autopilot (with wireless remote) and grid remote. The systems are also connected to an engine room camera, a rear view camera and a pan-tilt-zoom FLIR night vision camera. The system also features a 6’ 72 mile open array radar and an updated wind instrument. The entire navigation suite is new from the ground up in 2020, and installed by a premier electronics integrator.

Other than the FLIR camera, the entire system is Garmin, offering one touch auto routing and near infinite configurability. This system equals or exceeds anything found on any new high end yacht.   The yacht is also equipped with a Glendenning wired remote with three station capability for easy docking.

The Stereo:

New Fusion head unit, integrated with the Garmin system supports amazing sounds in four zones. The pilothouse and the salon each feature four Harmon Kardon satellite speakers with a matching powered sub. The flybridge features new “Wet Sounds” speakers and a subwoofer. The back deck has two new Wet Sounds speakers. The system features significant power through numerous perfectly matched Wet Sounds amplifiers. There are separate zone remotes for the bridge and salon.

Wave WiFi:

Two powerful antennas (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) pull in WiFi signals from much further away than your average antenna and another system rebroadcasts the WiFi signal throughout the boat. No more “who has the wifi password for this marina?” Sign in once, and everyone onboard is connected.

 The Davit:

Most Outer Reefs (including this one) came from he factory with Brower Systems davits. Brower Systems is no longer in business and these davits, dubious at their best, have become very difficult to service. Nothing can ruin your day more than not being able to get your dingy or toys off the boat deck, or even worse, not being able get them back up!

This boat features a brand new Steel Head ES1500 4 function (winch, luff, extension, rotation) davit rated at 1,500 pounds. The davit operates fully by wireless remote control. The davit was installed by Steel Head factory authorized installer at a cost of $40,000.

Tired of that awful crescent shaped white ice, the owner installed a Scotsman ice maker, which makes beautiful, clear cocktail-worthy ice, in the pilot house. With the vessel’s ice demands easily met by the Scotsman, all other fridges were replaced with new units with no ice makers in them (saving the space usually taken up by ice makers).

This totals 4 units: a NEW GE French Door fridge/freezer in the galley, 2 NEW U-Line outdoor fridges (back deck and flybridge) and a stainless fridge/freezer drawer combo in the crew area. The combination of the galley freezer and the crew freezer allow the boat to be amply stocked with frozen goods for extended cruising.

Efficiency, Range and Ease of Operation:

Perfectly powered with recently rebuilt and very efficient Cat C-9s and carrying 2,200 gallons of fuel, she is set for long range cruising. Also, with four bladed props (versus factory three blades) she is more efficient than her sisters.

Choose 10 knots at 14 GPH, 9 knots at 10 GPH, 8 knots at 6 GPH or 7 knots at 4 GPH. Even at 10 knots, then engines are purring along at less than 30% load. The Glendenning full featured wired remote (with three plug in stations) make docking a breeze.

Bottom Line:

In addition to the above, all major services have been done (bottom paint, props, water maker, thrusters, stabilizers, etc.). Over $200,000 invested in the last year to update the vessel. She is as turnkey as turnkey gets and will not last.
